Le Havre Better STFU. Manchester United Threaten Lawsuit over Pogba Controversy

September 7, 2009

Alex Ferguson2Transfer Ban? Swivel.

In response to the Paul Pogba signing controversy, Manchester United have drafted a letter to Pogba’s former Club, Le Havre, warning of legal action if the club continue to feed stories to the media.

As of now, FIFA has not received complaint against the Premiership Club.

From the Old Trafford Powers that be:

“In response to the wholly unfounded comments widely reported in the media of Le Havre AC President, Jean-Pierre Louvel, Manchester United wish to categorically confirm that as a matter of club policy and in accordance with the applicable football regulations, we do not offer inducements to the parents of players who sign for the club such as monetary payments or the purchase of houses.

Manchester United have today written to Le Havre AC to put it on notice that action will be taken if such allegations are repeated in relation to the transfer of Paul Pogba.

Manchester United is entirely satisfied that the transfer of Paul Pogba has been conducted in accordance with the regulations set down by the world governing body, Fifa.

It is to be noted that all contractual documentation relating to the player’s registration with the club has already been fully ratified by the Football Association and the Premier League.”

And there you have it.  I wouldn’t hold my breath for a transfer ban or any other sanction to be levied against the Reds for that matter.

Its good Utd have done this. Allegedly the whole chelski thing has been blown up because of evidence provided by a family member of Kakuta! Crazy stuff. Le Harve can go and “do one”

Feel free to add anything. It’s a holiday here and I lacked motivation to really go into it. It’s my day off :-)

Crewe apparently wants to make a complain so its not just the French. I’m thinking there will be a few cases of small clubs trying to squeeze as much milk out of the big clubs coffers by making such claims. This certainly won’t be the last of it.

Tapping up goes on all the time, and has done since the the very beginning of footie time.

The so called regulatory bodies cannot make an example of one club without dealing with the avalanche of genuine and bogus claims that will follow from the FIFA ruling on Chelsea.

Blatter and Co have opened the proverbial can of worms. I think I could sell tickets for the end game on this one!

I hope Utd take it to ’em personally. Can’t see it going ahead anyhow, not with their ‘man inside UEFA’ David Gill on the payroll, anyhow.
