We Don’t Know Football

A group of qualified arm chair managers who will attempt to inject humor and elements of pop culture into the game that we all love.

Writers

AB co-founded the We Don’t Know Football brand, and that’s all he did. As he is the Chief Benefactor of the website, he likes to think he has the right to treat it like Roman Abramovich treats Chelsea – comes and goes as he likes. If you do manage to read one of his elusive posts, don’t forget to look out of the windows and check for flying pigs, and get some lottery tickets too.

Katie Preece twitter_logowdkf1010 is an American girl who knows more about English football than your average British bloke. A love for the beautiful game as well as Cricket and a bit of Rugby Union has left her in the ongoing throes of a nationality identity crisis.

Playing football since the age of 4 through the years on the Women’s Club Squad at University, the sport has been a huge part of her life.

A Manchester United supporter since 1990 when she was 11 years old (FYI, makes her the oldest here) living in Germany and saw the effort of the Mighty Reds in the FA Cup Final. A Ryan Giggs debut a year later sealed the deal and she’s still holding out hope that he’ll come to his senses and realize they are meant to be but she wouldn’t kick Nemanja Vidic or Paul Hartley out of bed for eating crackers either.

Tired of being accused of lack of patriotism, Katie is trying to become more familiar with the USA squad and football (I mean soccer) in America.

Her works were spotted by wllmhll on her blog at Katie Hearts DC and on Killahbeez. He was amused by the perspective of a female, and a Yank female at that. And she was flattered that anyone read her ramblings.

Rob Blanchette twitter_logowdkf1010 is a 33 year old Manchester United season ticket holder, who is a Property Surveyor, local Chess champion and former break-dancing teacher.

A third generation United supporter, Rob fell in love with his team in 1985 during the FA Cup Final, where Norman Whiteside’s extra time goal blew his nine year old mind away, and started his football addiction. Originally a city slicker, he is now a countryside gent, and resides in the Lincolnshire Wolds…however, he still struts around his village like Bez from The Happy Mondays singing aloud football songs..you can take the boy from Old Trafford, but you cant take Old Trafford out of the boy!

A music aficionado, having worked in the music industry most of his working life, Rob is everyone’s ideal pub quiz team member due to his ridiculously vast knowledge on the subject, and of course, his capacity for remembering incredibly rubbish football facts in depth.

He also intends on winning a Gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics..he doesn’t care at what. If he could choose a preference, it would be badminton or table tennis

Rob also writes his own blog at View From Tier 3.

glamorousdiss twitter_logowdkf1010 works as an Asian Correspondent for WDKF. Amazingly enough, he is a Tottenham Hotspurs fan. Enough said.

Adam Howard twitter_logowdkf1010 is a twenty year old student, studying English Literature at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. Born and raised in a football mad household in England, he was an Everton season ticket holder from the age of five until he moved to NZ in July 2005, and has played football for as long as he can remember (literally). He has only vague ambitions of what his degree will go towards, but would certainly enjoy being a football writer/journalist.

You can catch his articles for WDKF every Wednesday that’s why we like to call him Adam “Wednesday” Howard, not because of  Wednesday Addams.

Adam also writes on his blog at They Think It’s All Over.

Ritesh Teeluck twitter_logowdkf1010 graduated from the University of Mauritius with a degree on Computer Science & Engineering, and is working as an analyst programmer. So if you need some technical support on your computer, don’t hesitate to email him.

In the virtual world, we like to see Ritesh as our Old Trafford reporter who is constantly stalking the Carrington training ground for the latest news on Manchester United. In reality, he’s another hard-core fan not from Manchester so expect a lot of updates on United.

Ritesh also writes on his blog at Ritesh Blogzone.

George Curtis twitter_logowdkf1010 is a really passionate writer, and Sport Journalism is his ultimate aim as a profession. He lives in Shrewsbury, Shropshire and he is currently attending school at Shrewsbury School. He is a Liverpool supporter, ahh we all can’t be perfect.

Football has always been a part of his life and he’s been very lucky to have played at a pretty high level throughout his childhood.

George also writes on his own blog at The Back Pages.

Andrew Santos twitter_logowdkf1010 is a Philippines born American citizen who now lives in Leipzig, Germany. Confused yet? He is a very international person who is truly mad about anything football. An avid Manchester United supporter since 1996, he wanted nothing less than being like his hero Eric Cantona as a child (no, he does not condone violence!).

Despite being an obsessive United fan, he finds the time to follow other top leagues around the world as well. Andrew will primarily serve as the WDKF Bundesliga correspondent, but he also promises to write about the many different cultures in our sport. From big clubs such as the FC Bayerns to the smaller Gamba Osakas of the land, expect worldwide coverage!

Andrew also writes his own blog at AndrewsPwnChannel.

Diego Caballero twitter_logowdkf1010 was our last signing just before the window closed on August 31th. He’s a 24 years old Spanish fútbol fan, Barcelona and Liverpool supporter stuck right in the middle of  rabid Manchester United supporters here in WDKF.

Risky, huh? That’s not all – he also supports Inter Milan, which makes him pretty livid most Mondays at the office. Thankfully, he still has the treble that Barça won last season to brag about.

Diego also writes in his own La Liga blog at The Third Half.

Sarah Parker (Blissbubbley) is a  Manchester United fan, but finds time for various other clubs that she has soft spots for; naming a few, Burnley (don’t mention 1-0 to her though!), Preston and Watford. She has a passion for coaching and has her coaching badges. Sarah is also a trained referee, and loves the feel of power with the whistle! Sarah has mastered the art of yoga and is now aiming to be the Queen of Tai Chi. She’s currently writing her first book which isn’t football related, but will probably try to get football in it somewhere!

Sarah writes her own blog Sarah’s

beautifulfootball is the token hot chick who knows more about football than your average Joe Football, and at the same time watches it for the legs and the celebratory end of game toplessness. An Arsenal supporter, as well as Barcelona and AC Milan – to be more specific Kaka. We’re not too sure what she’s going to do with the knowledge of Kaka playing for Barca’s bitter rival, Real Madrid but from the grapevine she will be buying a Kaka shirt with the Real Madrid badge removed.

She’s currently on hiatus, finding a solution to world hunger is her top priority.

I’m the ripe old age of 17 :-)

Um yes and for anyone who follows George’s Twitter- his loved up tweets are referring to another girl called Katie. One in her teen years.
Just wanted to clear that up. When I say “younger men” I would be talking about those in the 27-29 age range (like Nemanja).
So just so everyone knows- I’m not a raging cross-Atlantic paedo.
      Haha.

  9. August 8, 2009 7:01 am

I’m 27 and lovin it! AB is about to be 28 pretty soon! haha

Blargh! Curses to aging! If youth is intent on leaving me then I shall gladly bid her farewell but the least she could do is leave me with some hair so my little sister won’t laugh at me from atop the stairwell!
