United’s disastrous start to 2010

January 3, 2010

Leeds United had the reputation of always harassing Manchester United whenever these two sides used to meet for the league games, but this time Leeds took the full opportunity presented to them, and knocked out the Red Devils out of the FA Cup, and that too with Man United having the home advantage in a do or die game.

Despite efforts from Rooney and co to overcome the one goal deficit which Beckford scored for Leeds on the 19th minute, Man Utd simply had to accept defeat in the end, allowing one of their bitter rivals to get through to the 4th round, while they will now have to work harder in the quest of the remaining trophies this season, and may be put some more pressure on Sir Alex to try get someone who is a true striker as even with Owen, Berbatov and Rooney on the field, Man Utd could not even get an equalizer for a replay.

I’m surprised Beckford has yet to move to the Championship or maybe lower end of the EPL!
