Everton Sign Russian Diniyar Bilyaletdinov

August 25, 2009

The Russki

David Moyes has picked up Lokomotiv Moscow striker Diniyar Bilyaletdinov on a five year contract.

The 24 year old Russian International comes to Goodison on an undisclosed fee and will debut as soon as his work permit is sorted out.

I don’t think Dini is tweeting updates on processing progress but I’m sure it won’t be more than a few days.

Moyes must have been impressed with Russia’s efforts in the Euro Cup 2008, as the country reached the semi-finals and far exceeded most people’s expectations.  Bilyaletdinov was capped in every match of that tournament and a total of 28 times for the Russkis.

The new Toffee will not be eligible for Thursday’s Europa League play-off second leg against Sigma Olomouc but may be legal for work by Sunday for Everton’s tie with Wigan.

did you know, the transfer was signed not in goodison but in germany? apparently, he would have to apply for visa to come to england so they decided to meet up in germany where his passport allows him to enter without a visa. and now, hes back in russia to apply for the necessary work permit.

This guy is a great player and is a wonderful signing for a team of Everton’s quality, I mean it seemed he was destined for one of the European elite for a long time.

The Yak scored a goal last night and now this signing along with Ever Banega and possible Distin signing, I am in a happy place at the moment.

Once the yak is back to strength and Arteta and Jags are back on the pitch… we will have some good depth not seen in quite a few years.
Still need another fullback (I so loved the idea of Huth) but hey, I am not going to ruin my high I’m on today
    Come on you BLUES!
    NSNO!

P.S I understand Bilyaletdinov may use his christian name to keep shirt cost down for supporters
