anderson to quit old trafford after ferguson bust up

August 25, 2009

Manchester United Brazilian midfielder Anderson has been told he can quit the Old Trafford club after reacting angrily to being left out for the Community Shield defeat by Chelsea.

Anderson added more fuel to the fire when he refused to back down after Sir Alex Ferguson confronted him for his actions. And the Brazilian claiming that he would rather quit the club than sit on the sidelines while rookie Darron Gibson took his place in the squad.

Anderson didn’t even make it for the trip to Wigan last Saturday, Gibson once again took his place in the squad.

I have to say that this news surprised me, and I just hope this isn’t true. As a huge fan of Ando, I see him as the natural successor to Paul Scholes albeit he hasn’t score goals from open and thought this season would see him mature into a key player for United – and a scoring one.

I think Anderson’s a player who can be really good when he wants to be and if it weel me, I think I’d only sell him if I needed the money to get someone else. Until then he’ll serve well as a utility player.

Not really rated him, he never gave me something to cheer about when he played. MAy be if he leaves United can try bid for Silva or Van Der Vaart

    stupid rumours again!..

if anderson produced a bright performance @ burnley, there wouldn’t have been such a press relating such stories i think..

sadly no fabregas for man utd vs arsenal this coming weekend. cuz anderson would have taken care of him as usual :P

Oh how I long for the days of 2007 when Hargo and Ando played Gerrard and Masch off the pitch at Anfield…

I kinda rate him. He absolutely manned the midfield in the Porto away game last year. Lacks confidence in front of goal (in open play) but that should come with experience. Needs to step it up this year if he wants to fulfill his “successor to Scholes” tag.
