Arsenal 4 – 1 Portsmouth

Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby scored two goals in the first half as they piled on the pressure on the Pompeys. Diaby scored the first goal on the 18th minute after Eduardo, making his first start of the season, crossed the ball from the left hand side. Three minutes later, the midfielder scored his second goal after Emmanuel Eboue created the chance. Former Tottenham player, Younes Kaboul pulled one back eight minutes before half-time when Manuel Almunia hesitated to come for a cross from Nadir Belhadj.

William Gallas scored his third goal in three games in the 51th minute in a scramble in David James’ penalty box. Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey slotted the Gunners’ fourth goal of the afternoon after coming on from the substitute bench.

Another totally dominant display from Arsenal in all aspects. The scoreline does even flatter Pompey a bit if thats even possible although the defense could have been a bit more solid but I guess its only natural when you change both full backs.
All around a good performance from the boys!

yep eboue did a lot better than the last time i saw him. thought the pompey goal was more the keeper’s fault and less full backs’.

Yeah for sure Almunia mid-judged the flight of the ball for the goal. I more meant that Gibbs got caught out down that left side a couple times. Eboue did a good job aswell especially since he’s back to his natural fullback position. I also reckon Arshavin’s passing today was brilliant.

I don’t think we will see portsmouth come next year. Just my guess.

Another great performance by the boys. Arsenal took the lead in the 18th minute and three minutes later Diaby scored his second. It’s getting better for them. Hopefully, Arsenal can win premiership.
