Huntelaar chooses Milan over Arsenal

August 7, 2009

It looks like once again money is no object to Real Madrid.

They’ve just sold Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar for €15m to AC Milan, having purchased him at €27m from Ajax just eight months ago.

No doubt those at the Emirates are feeling disappointed as Huntelaar’s record of 76 goals in 92 apps in his time at various clubs in the Eredivisie would have helped fill in the gaps left by the departure of Emmanuel Adebayor.

But the former Dutch Football talent of the Year Award Winner saw much less time on the pitch at the Bernabeu.  He served as a substitute in only 20 matches but did still manage 8 goals.  So despite the loss of €12 on Huntelaar’s purchase and sale, Real Madrid is needing to unload some players to make room to accommodate the club’s quest to establish a Football Novus Ordo Seclorum in which the Galacticos will rule the world.  Watch for it.  Only Sheikh Mansour is mad enough to stand in their way.

Huntelaar was linked with Spurs was he not?

Yep, but I think after Crouchy had his nachos at WHL, interest subsided. Arsenal was the forerunner.

an absolute steal at €15m, quite regrettable for arsenal and tottenham.

i reckon huntelaar could have made it at real madrid, but after being snubbed a champions league spot for lassana diarra he knew he had to move.

kate – i take it you studied latin? i believe thats your second latin quote, how cerebral of you.

Ha, I did study Latin actually. But that’s a well known phrase in the States as most of the founding fathers were Freemasons and that’s a Masonic saying.

I just took one of those facebook quizzes “What kind of Girl are you?” and got the result: Nerd.
I denied it but you know, it may be true.
    I am a nerd. :-/

Huntelaar picked the best team to go to. Spurs and Arsenal are nothing compared to Milan. Internationally, the most successful club in the world. So he made the right choice.

I think he hesitated to join the gunners because of the young players in there and spurs coz they are not in the champions league.
