Young Devils win Milk Cup

United’s youth team won the Milk Cup for the second year in a row after defeating Sheffield United 2-1 in the final.

They became the first team to retain their trophy having won it last year. This youth tournament forms an important part in the pre-season for the youth squad and United had to face four teams before reaching the final. They won over County Antrim 3-0, Club Cantalao 4-0, Desportivo Brasil on penalties, Fenerbahçe 2-1, and eventually to the final 2-1, where Ngoo, a trialist from Southend, and Etzaz Hussain scored.

The first team will be in action tomorrow night 20hrs UK time, where they will face Valencia in a friendly match. United are said to be interested in signing David Silva from Valencia, after failing to tempt David Villa to join earlier when the previous season ended, which then gave Owen the opportunity to join.

LOL. Great coverage of United news Ritesh. All the way to the kiddies. :D

With David Villa, I think SAF is still keen on signing him but I keep reading that Villa himself is drawn more to Barca. Hopefully he’ll change his mind if the price is right.
