ol’ grey beard

December 4, 2008

Despite spending £80m in the transfer market and starting his managerial career in flying colours, Roy Keane has failed to established Sunderland as contenders to the Barclay’s Premier League crown. Results has gone against him, and he hasn’t bought that well.

I just hope he got the sack rather than walked away from arguably the hardest fight in his top flight managerial career. It’s not the first time he walked away from something. Remember him leaving the Ireland camp in the 2002 World Cup? I would love to see Keano try and turn it around, dig deep. Real managers see it through. Plus, the table is so tight right now that a run of good results would bring Sunderland up to mid-table.

Nonetheless, he’ll be right back.
