David Beckham opened his account for the new MLS season with a wonderful half-volley.

A long throw was only cleared as far as the edge of the penalty area where it found Beckham lying in wait in the right place at the right time. The former Real Madrid and Manchester United man took a first time volley and it flew into the back of goal just inside of the left post.

Check out the top-spin on that ball as it left Becks’ boot. Exactly like my tee shots, except his is on target while mine are everywhere else but the target.
