With a Knick Knack Paddiwhack Give a Dog a Bone…

July 31, 2009

Go On, Citeh, F*ck off home.

Manchester City’s buying crusade was put on a momentary freeze today as Everton refused an GBP 18 million offer for Joleon Lescott.

18 million? Come on, Sheikhy, let me feel the fiber of your fabric.

But according to Mark Hughes, the quest to get Lescott in sky blue isn’t over yet.

“My understanding is that we’ve already done that (made a second bid) and by all accounts Everton have rejected that. We’ll wait and see.”

It pains me to say this, but things at Eastlands are looking very formidable.  Lescott’s prowess on the back line along with newly purchased Kolo Toure would only add to the strong side that has been built this Summer.

Toffees need to stay strong.  Put an end to Sheikh Mansour’s madness.

    Amen to that Katie.

Here’s what Phil Neville had to say on the matter:

“The club have turned down two offers and the manager is not prepared to sell him. Let’s move on and let’s look forward to the new season. Will City get the message? The way they are going about their business, I don’t think they will. There are ways and means of doing things – and Everton do it the right way.”

Unlike Bayern Munich’s 80 million price tag for Franck Ribery, I rather like Everton’s approach in that money can’t always buy whatever you want.
This transfer window really has really seen a disgusting amount of spending and I hope it’s not a new trend.

I rate Joleon right up with Vidic and I dare say over JT.
Hold on for dear life, Everton.

        Well, Dave.
I do need an EU work visa and my Mom is constantly on me about finding a nice guy.
Have you got BSkyB? That’s a big priority. :-)

i do want lescott to stay at everton, but there is the monetary pull at city and sometimes that is stronger than loyalty. hopefully, that wont be the case with lescott.

Who are you calling Scouse, Karl?
    I take offense!
And I’m Yank…so that should put it in perspective :-)

I just think out of a matter of principle, it would be fantastic if Lescott stayed.

City’s summer spending pushing triple digits….
