kits jerseys revealed not re-leaked
The last time we posted a leaked picture of the new England jersey, we received an email ordering us to ‘cease and desist’. Those were scary times, I tell you. So this is just a little update on new jerseys that are officially revealed on club websites. Actually I was going to do all the released kits but, contrary to common belief, I don’t have that much free time so I’m just going to review the European-playing clubs’ new kits.

Arsenal. Thankfully, its not the hunter-green that was leaked a few months ago. I really thought that was an eye-sore, even though the sentiment was to emulate the days when Umbro* made the Arsenal’s jersey in the 1982-83 season. However, this new kit is probably not the most attractive Arsenal has had but its still a lot pleasing than that yellow away kit they had last season. Its too plain, and looks dull IMHO, almost like pyjamas. *Umbro is now owned by Nike, go figure.

Aston Villa. I absolutely love this kit. It has the same pinstripe design as Arsenal’s away kit, but if you look carefully it has two tone colours of white and light navy-ish grey with pinstripes and its round-neck instead of buttoned collar. Plain enough to not be boring, interesting enough to not be chav-vy. Just too bad Gareth Barry won’t be wearing this next season as he did in the promotion pictures of the new kit.

Chelsea. I know there are a few out there who are fans of the Chelsea’s new home kit, but one word is enough to express my thought on it – Bleuurghh. I know that’s probably not even a word, more of a vocal expression. Anyway, what are those things on the pecs? Flaps for breast-feeding? It belongs more in the maternity department at Harrods than in Stamford Bridge. Bleuurghh. I know Adidas are capable of designing great shirts but this one bombed a stink-bomb.

Everton. I don’t think I’ve ever own a Le Coq Sportif product in my whole life but I really like the new design of Everton’s home kit, apparently its a throw-back to the old kit Everton wore during the ’80s. The talented Adam Howard of They Think It’s All Over did a great review on the kit – click.

Fulham. Classic. Simple. Should work with the fans. The Cottagers’ recent home jerseys were quite plain and “clean” but the addition of the black trim on the neck and sleeves really jazzes the new home strip up.

Liverpool. Ever since 1996 when Man Utd wore the infamous away kit and England’s away strip for Euro ’96, I’ve never been a fan of the colour grey. In fact, I spit at the colour grey. LOL. But the design in Liverpool’s away kit is impressive, even if it is grey in colour, I can see a lot of Liverpool fans lining up to get their hands on this one. Gold trimmings on dark grey – very nice, hopefully there won’t be any win-less streak with the kit ala Man Utd.

Liverpool’s 3rd away kit is not bad either, would have been nicer if the Carlsberg logo was red too.

Manchester United. I doubt that this picture is the real thing, its probably photoshopped. If you were watching the Champions League final between Barcelona and Man Utd last month (DAMNATION!) then you probably noticed the new tracksuits both teams were wearing as they walked out of the tunnel onto the pitch, its more or less shows the chevron design Nike will be spearheading for next season.
Away kit should be released towards the end of the month, while the home away kit is due middle of July.

i like fulham’s and villa’s best! and the chelski jersey looks like the old adidas ones France used during Euro2000. It had the funny breast feeding thingy!
haha breast plates? more like medieval armour! and what is that detail mid collar? is it some kind of awesome zip?
Arsenal’s is the best imho, United should bring back the collar!
Bizarrely i find the scouser’s grey kit very nice :P
as for chelski’s kit, seems they are out to conquer the premier league, and united’s kit look very odd :D
it does look odd but it did look alright on the pitch when they wore it for the last couple of games last season. but i still find it awful.
ab. its a zip handle for an invisible zip.
ritesh. yes i find liverpool’s grey kit quite awesome. theres a viral video for it with xabi alonso and pepe reina promoting it which is also awesome.
